U.S. Senator Tim Johnson (D-SD) announced today that his wife Barbara is recovering from a running accident. While running, Mrs. Johnson fell, fractured her shoulder and her wrist on the other arm.
“Barb and I have faced tough challenges before. We will get through this one too,” said Johnson. “Both of us appreciate your prayers and thoughts.”
"Tim and I were both looking forward to a break from Congress and returning to South Dakota, but this is not exactly the break we had in mind!" Mrs. Johnson said.
Mrs. Johnson is recovering in the hospital and undergoing tests and consultations to determine the course of treatment.
Senator Johnson will be helping to care for Mrs. Johnson during her recovery period and will be canceling his events scheduled for August.
